Poonga
Support
Poonga is a calm puzzle game of wooden shapes and the seasons of the year, for children aged 9 to 12 and their families.
How to play
Each row of wooden pieces hides a rhythm. Look at the pieces, find what makes them follow each other, and choose the sixth piece on the wheel: a shape (outer ring) and a season (inner ring).
- Shapes are numbers: circle 1, cross 2, triangle 3, square 4, and so on up to the octagon, 8.
- Colours are seasons: spring green, summer yellow, harvest orange, autumn red, Advent violet, winter blue.
- Both wheels turn round: after eight comes one again, and after winter comes spring.
Questions
What is the difference between "A year" and "Challenge"?
A year is twelve puzzles with no clock: take your time and ask for the next clue whenever you like. Challenge is against the clock, with three lives, points and streaks.
What do the levels mean?
The level sets how many pieces show when a puzzle starts: Easy 5, Beginner 4, Normal 3, Hard 2, Extreme 1. Choose it on the title screen with the arrows under the row of pieces.
I made a mistake. Is the puzzle lost?
No. You get a second try, and the game tells you if the shape or the season was right. After two wrong answers the rhythm is shown, so you can see how it worked.
How do I turn off the sound or vibration?
Open Settings on the title screen.
Colours are hard for me to tell apart.
Turn on "Season signs on pieces" in Settings: every season then has its own small sign burned into the wood. "Numbers on pieces" shows each shape's number too.
Where is my progress saved? Can I start again?
